Progress...

This past 2 weeks have been a bit of a wash out, sewing wise. Apparently, it is the season to be sick - all 5 of us, one after the other - and not just one round of it either. My one wish for this week is for everyone to finally stop coughing.

So, with all that, sewing has been limited. But I have been trying to do a little bit when I could and I am making good progress with my Octagon Shimmer quilt. I'm going to do another column of blocks to finish this out, and do the flying geese borders at the top and bottom that are in the pattern, I'm just waiting for some more fabric to arrive from Cindy as I need a few more strong coloured prints to complete it.

I'm not sureI've nailed the intended effect in this pattern and mixed strong and low volume prints in the right quantities. Oh well, I still think it is pretty, that's what counts, right? When I look at it, it makes me think of the old fashioned sweets you see in the traditional sweet shops. Or candy canes. Something like that anyway!

In the meantime, I've started cutting the triangles for the 2nd border of the Marcelle Medallion..they are small and fiddly but if I do a few every evening I'll soon get there. And of course, I have the partner emails for the Big Stitch Swap to get out this week, they are nearly ready to go..I can't wait to get mine from Cindy and start stalking my partner
