{Very} Slow Sewing

It's been a very slow couple of days here. Despite having 2 Swoon blocks cut for the last week, I haven't managed to get near them till yesterday. Having made 3 already, I have found putting them together got quicker and quicker. But not this one. I had organised some "free time" for myself yesterday but between a sick little boy and an uncooperative baby, my free time disappeared into thin air. But I was determined. So I sewed it in 5 minute bursts here and there, seam by seam.

By dinner time this evening, 2 whole days work, I had this:

And once the kids were in bed, my speed increased a hundredfold and I quickly had this lovely:

I've been hoarding that navy Echo print for a long time, and I love the contrast with the yellow Pearl Bracelets.

No energy left to start on block no 5 so instead I've retired to the sofa to continue hand finishing my baby quilt binding. Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

  1. LOL - that sounds like my sewing style some days :) They'll grow up all too soon.

Your swoon block looks fantastic - those fabrics, together look brilliant.

  4. This sounds oddly familiar... Hahaha! I long ago gave up trying to sew when my littles are awake. I'm impressed you got that stack of piecing done when yours were up - it's far more than I can ever get to! :)

  5. Ha... You're like me but my swoon blocks have been sitting on the kitchen bench for two weeks now.. The thought of trimming them down is killing me! You're right on the echo blue print. Looks really well in the swoon block.

  14. That is how my swoon block is going this week. I normally can finish one in a couple hours of an evening. It's taken me two days to make the pieces, then the sections, and now I need to piece it together. I guess I am at least getting some sewing time in, even if it's only a few minutes. I have two little ones that distract me.
