Slow Sewing...

It's been more than a little quiet around here of late! I feel like I've barely blogged in weeks, which is, in fact the case. Not like me at all! Unfortunately, life has just gotten in the way of blogging for the last month or so. For some (clearly deluded) reason, I thought that as my kids got older, I would have more time to myself. Apparently not! And now that we are into the long summer evenings and they are itching to be out on our big green and in the back garden, there is no getting them to bed at 7pm and having the evening to myself to sew. But to be honest, even if they had been in bed, most evenings I have been only capable of collapsing onto the sofa and watching tv, what with life, work and everything else!

Anyways, I thought I would show you some of the (very limited) projects I have been working on.

First up, some bee blocks:

April

and May

I have made up a few sample make up bags and pencil cases, hoping I might sell a couple for teacher's gifts to fund some fabric purchasing later in the summer.

And I have been working on a simple pattern for my Charlotte bag which will be available next month.

Lastly, I have quilted and partially bound the Little Apples "Stained" quilt and will be hand finishing it on the sofa tonight. Can't wait to have another finish to finally show you :-)

Hope you are having a lovely weekend, particularly those of you off gallivanting in London for the Fat Quarterly retreat - looks like you are all having a ball!

Very cute ...I love your bags! As for the busy thing, I think it only gets worse as they get older!

Really looking forward to your bag tutorial. I looks great. I know what you mean about kids going to bed...my evening starts at 8pm then I'm ready for bed by 10! I only seem to sew once a week!

I've got a 3 year old and one on the way, please don't ruin the illusion!! I'm thinking in 5 or so years I can kick back with a glass of wine and do some sewing in the early evening, after a nice dinner, when the children are tucked up in bed...
Maybe my 5 year plan needs to become my 20 year plan!

I know how you feel Sarah and I don't even have kids to run around for and after! I seem to not get any time to sew but it doesn't seem to stop the fingers tapping the keyboard to purchase fabric...

Nice to see you :) And even without kids to interrupt I'm having terrible trouble keeping up at the moment. Long evenings should be great for sewing, but somehow, I just don't want to sit in front of the machine (although I've had no trouble collapsing in front of the telly ;))

Lovely blocks, and really looking forward to the bag pattern!
