If you're visiting my blog for the first time as part of this giveaway, welcome. I'm so happy to meet you! I'm Sarah, I'm a modern Irish quilter living in beautiful Cork in the south west of Ireland. I love making quilts and pretty things. I'm a super busy working mum, with 3 smallies and a lovely hubby to look after, in addition to my job and my quilting addiction. I spent a little while thinking about what to give away today for the Sew, Mama, Sew! giveway day. And I thought it should be something I would love to win, if I was entering. So today's prize is a combination of my 2 favourite things - fabric and a quilt book.
First up, I have put together, from my own (rather overflowing at this stage) stash, a lovely bundle of fat eighths in a rainbow of colours. There are 2 FEs of each colour. The fabrics are all gorgeous, designer quilting cottons from designers like Aneela Hoey, Kate Spain, Vanesa Christenson, Lizzy House, Tanya Whelan etc.That's 2 whole yards of fabric!!
The second part of the prize is the lovely quilt book Modern Baby.

I don't actually own any quilt patterns or books so I can't comment much on that. I get most of my inspiration and patterns from Pinterest or blogs. That being said, I mostly just drool and don't actually end up making the quilts because I am too scared I will 'ruin' my beloved fabric! So I just look at it and stroke it often. (Nope, not weird at all :))
I am new to quilting so I don't have a favorite book yet, but we are expecting our first baby in April and I might have to check out your modern baby book. Thanks!

I subscribe to Love of Quilting and McCalls Quilting and both have tons of wonderful patterns in them. I really like the trip around the world pattern.
Current fave book is Aneela's pop-up boxes one - too lovely to use though!!

I love the pattern "Quilter's Puzzle" So easy and looks just like a puzle!

I really like the Bijou lovely quilt pattern. It is so quick to stitch up it's good for emergencies. Either that or the stip and flip pattern from Cluck Cluck Sew, for exactly the same reasons!

I am a machine quilter on a domestic machine, so am constantly consulting my machine quilting books. I do use the Sue Nickels one called Fabulous Fillers and Feathers quite a bit.
I don't have many quilt books, but of the ones I have I love Cherri House's City Quilts.

I love 'Whip it up Mini Quilts' at the moment - theres a really large selection of projects and they are divided by styles, but all the styles are modern if you get what I mean?

Thanks for the fantastic giveaway! When you said you had 3 smallies I read it as smellies, I had to do a double take! :) glad you said smallies! I haven't yet made a full quilt, it's on my 'bucket list' but I love modern quilts with simple and graphic design.

I've been quilting for a long time and I don't buy many books. One of my favorites is a scrap quilts book from Judy Martin.
I am new to sewing and haven't found a good book or pattern for quilts just yet, but because of your post I now have some good ideas.
